El Mod / Tamiya Recoil Servo Mod
Hi All, Sirvoe has been around for a while now so I guess it is time to show a few of the various ways that you can get a Sirvoe to solve many of the small issues that RC tankers can come across. The primary use for Sirvoe is to allow the use of a servo to control gun elevation using a stick on your radio. But you can order Sirvoe to fulfil a variety of other purposes.
In this example Sirvoe can be ordered from RCTA setup to control a servo operated recoil system for use with the El Mod or Tamiya control units. The 5 volt supply to operate servo can be sourced from a spare channel on your receiver. The trigger input (in this case a low) can be sourced from the outermost pin of the recoil connector on the EL Mod Eco or the corresponding pin on the Tamiya MF unit. Allowing for a recoil action as shown in the following video.
Cheers

I'm interested in adding recoil to my full option M4(105). Can I use this with the MF-02 MFU?

Hi Andy
As you know the Sherman MU has no recoil function nor pins. Hence this mod will not work as there is nowhere on the unit to plug in.
Another customer has just asked the same thing and he is getting the MAKO4 Tamiya. Which will not only give him recoil but add a huge range of extra features such as:
Battle Unit identification Real time monitoring of Battle stats Multi-brand IR compatibility Machine gun IR 2 shot Kill IR and yes it will leave all the regular Tamiya functions unchanged.
Alternatively, if you have a programmable radio like the 9X you can program a recoil function on a spare channel and simply plug your servo into that channel. A recoil servo program is setup by default to CH7 on many of the tankER9X templates.
If your radio is NOT programmable then a different mod to SIRVOE is needed so as it is triggered of your Gun channel (CH3). Then you simply use a Y- connector CH3 out on your receiver with one end to the MU and the outer end to the recoil servo.
Here is MAKO4 Tamiya again
Cheers KG
