Hey Thor There is no beta version - Taipan2014 is done - I am rolling them out into all of my tanks. If you want to build one yourself then the PCBs are only $9. They take about a day to solder together and that is why they are not for sale nor will ever be. However, there is a updated design for mass production - Taipan2015. It is sitting here on the computer ready to be brought to life. When you may be able to buy one depends on fast the webstore can make $10 000 as that will be about the cost for a bulk run of mass produced Taipan2015 units. The ball is now in your court tankers Cheers KG

Yes - But it is more likely that the cut down versions of Taipan2015 will be available first as these will be cheaper.

Hi John
The first of the cut down Taipan boards actually arrives tomorrow.
BUT
This first variant requires the more expensive of the 2 Sound module options. Since ordering this PCB I have refined the design of this smaller board to use the cheaper sound option (only duophonic sound) but have added a few more control options.
So it will be up to you if you wish for the first release or the second.
BUT (2)
Because of all of the features on these boards I will only be supporting users who have a Turnigy/Taranis radio with tankER9X installed. Why - because it is only the 9X that has anywhere near enough switches and program options to control all of the features on these boards.
The first release board will be called "Asp". I will start a forum topic for the board soon where all of i's features will be detailed. But in a nutshell:
smaller board for smaller tanks - not real suitable for full metal 20 kg monsters duophonic sound - user changeable sounds all on SD card airsoft support NO IR support - nada recoil motor & recoil servo support plug and play replacement for Heng Long/Taigen MFU The following are controlled by the radio Headlight Aux light Smoke Unit Sound Volume
Cheers KG

Kevin,
I have one of those 90% metal tanks so I'll have to wait for the 2nd incarnation. I have the Taranis plus, although I don't have anythig to test it with... lol On another note have you played with modifying the Tanker EX for Taranis?

Yes I have done most of the transport of tankER9X over to Taranis. Just one of those things that I have not finished as other things came along to get done first.

Here it is the first of the Taipan Series of boards. The first into production is Asp. This board is the smallest in the series and will be available after the Chinese New Year Holiday.
Key Asp Features:
Plug and Play installation - there will be no need to do any mods to get Asp up and running provided that you have a 9X series radio running tankER9X. When Asp is released so to will the ASP template and eepe files.
Duophonic sound board included with user changeable sounds and SD card storage.
Additional Aux light and secondary machine gun
All of the following can be controlled using the radio Headlight on/off Aux light on/off Smoke unit on/off Machine gun selection Sound volume and user sounds
NOTE: Asp is a NON-IR unit and as such is a unit dedicated to airsoft and scale tankers. There are no IR options nor the possibility for IR functionality. If you don't want IR then you shouldn't have to pay for it.
Expected cost will be $149 USD
Cheers KG

Here is ASP in real life
2015-02-23 06.09.36.jpg
Only major change to the above 3D is that the recoil servo has been moved to CH8 on the 9X program. That port now becomes a 5V out for cameras or other accessories.
Available soon.... (After Chinese New Year)
