A quick update. I have now fitted JP power 480 motors, and I am awaiting a 3s LiPo to go in this tank. The motors already have given it a little performance boost and the 3s LiPo should finish the job. I have a IBU2 Pro in this tank which can use the extra voltage from a 3s LiPo, I would check if you are using anything different that it can run at the higher voltage before following my lead, I don't want you to fry your control system. I believe the ASP is ok up to 12v so should work ok. Perhaps you could confirm this Kevin

Hi Paul,
Using 3S LiPo in modern tanks is great it gives a faster more realistic speed, I use it in all my cold war to modern tanks.
Ian.

Now using a 3s liPo in the Abrams. Better performance all round. If your control system can handle it I would definitely recommend this for modern armour.

@Kevin you should go for the fitted JP power 480 motors, and 3s LiPo. The motors will give a little performance boost and the 3s LiPo should finish the job. Yes Asp is fine with 3 cell LiPos. It has always been a standard recommendation of mine to use 3 cell LiPos and the Asp in modern tanks. There are high speed gearboxes available from rctank.de. I prefer to use an entire matched motor gearbox setup rather than putting a quality motor on a not so quality gearbox.
Even better performance if you can sneak a cooling fan in there as well
Cheers KG
