Yea the mantlet looks a bit complex with the rubber cover and canvas but hard to see though.

Cheers

The latest of my Tanks to receive a Clark servo recoil unit is my ZTZ99a. This install took a little more fettling to get right but is working how I want it to now. I had to make a very precise cut in the Plastic outer barrel, and ended up taking 5mm off one end of the BB barrel. I had to do a lot of research to try and see where the recoil sleve on this tank began, after which I still had to really make my best guess. I have seen some models where the barrel recoils into the beginning of the section which widens out at the mantlet end, however looking at pics the wider section looks like it is part of the barrel (breech strengthening I would assume), and the recoil sleeve actually begins at the Mantlet, where the canvas cover is. There seems to be a bolt on ring at that point which has space between it and the barrel.

So my barrel moves at that point.
As a result of fitting the recoil unit I also had to re fit the servo elevation.

Here is a short video of the elevation and recoil in action.

I have the Mack Granite Bruder low loader combo.

I have pulled apart the Mack cabin etc but can't see how the front chromed bumper comes off.

Does anyone have any tips on how to do this please?

Planned mockup attached...

The trailer I am making is loosely based on the US military M747 trailer, a mighty handome looking trailer IMHO! I have amended the design to keep the Bruder three axle wheels and having just a flat deck with the central Bruder slot. On the gooseneck I have omitted the M747 guide rollers on top of the gooseneck. The work is still in production including front legs, tail section and side shackles etc... some pics (hopefully) attached.

Interestred to know if anyone else has done a Bruder gooseneck conversion?

Just gotten round to adding the last bits of stowage on the M2A1 Bradley, which means this model is now complete. The new stowage pieces are from the Value Gear Generic Tarp Rolls & Crates Set #2. They are fantastic resin castings with a high level of very crisp detail.

So here are some pics.

This Model is a 21st Century toys die cast upper hull, on a modified Pzr III chassis, and Pzr IV running gear.

IBU 2 Pro with custom sound set, which includes Tow Missile launch, bushmaster 25mm cannon and M240 Coax MG. From RC Tank Electronics.
Audio amp from eBay.
Viper remote volume control from RC tanks Australia.
upgraded speaker from Tank Modellbau.
Tarr 1 smoke unit from RC Tank Electronics.
working head and rear lights.
Figures from AFV models
Stowage from various sources.

Paint shceme is the original 21st Century one, which has been weathered using Mig washes and Tamiya Weather Master products. Additional painting and details where done using Tamiya acrylic paints.

Videos of this tank can be found on my YouTube channel here

And some pics in place on the tank. As you can see the figure with the boonie hat can be used in the gunners hatch or the drivers.

Hope you like them.

These have also now had a mat clear coat, but I took these pics before that went on. last steps will be a coat of Tamiya smoke for the goggle lenses, and a dust with some appropriate colours of Tamiyas weather master.

next pics will probably be in place on the Bradley.

Paul.

They have had a wash around the dark shadow areas, ears, eyes, nose and mouth in Mig brown for dark yellow filter. The uniform parts have also had a base coat of Tamiya desert yellow. this is a six colour camo pattern with this being the dark sand yellow base colour.
